Arts and creative economy advisor
The British Council, a world leader in cultural relations, seeks to appoint an Advisor in Arts and the Creative Economy to help develop and strengthen its national and international work. This new post has been created following extensive consultation within the sector in 2008. It is a significant opportunity for a recognised leader in the sector to reinforce the British Council's deep commitment to arts and the creative economy as an integral part of its work.
Candidates will be passionate about the role of arts and the creative economy in cultural relations. They will be consummate networkers, will possess a broad spread of knowledge and experience and will be individuals with a real ability to contribute strategically to the work of the organisation. On a day-to-day basis the Adviser will work closely with the British Council's Director of Arts and her team of specialists, but will be expected to work across the breadth of the organisation.
In addition to the above responsibilities, the successful candidate will be expected to commit to a few additional days a year in the capacity of chair of the British Council's Arts and Creative Economy Advisory Group. The duties of the British Council's Advisory Groups are unremunerated.
Salary up to £35,000 pa One and a half days a week
