Creative New Zealand is a national arts development agency with responsibility for encouraging, promoting and supporting the arts in New Zealand. We do this by funding a wide range of projects and carrying out various initiatives and research projects that promote and support the arts. The following opportunity has arisen in our Christchurch office: Programme Administrator
The Programmes Team is responsible for the effective and efficient management and delivery of development programmes, initiatives and project funding for the arts sector. The primary functions of this role are to provide administrative support to specific programmes and initiatives managed through the Programmes team and to provide administrative support to staff in the Southern office.
You will deal with enquiries regarding Creative NZ initiatives, and will receive, process and summarise data related to programmes or applications. You will have demonstrated a high level of IT and general administration and support skills and will have a strong customer service ethic. You will have the ability to build and manage relationships and you will have knowledge of the arts sector within the South Island and in New Zealand.
The Southern office is currently responsible for the national delivery of the Creative Communities Scheme in partnership with Territorial Authorities. You will be required to analyse financial data as well as take an active role in assisting with the ongoing monitoring of the Scheme.
This is an exciting opportunity for a person who will enjoy interactions with a range of artists, arts organisations and territorial authorities in a highly innovative and responsive environment.
The role will suit you if you are highly motivated, have excellent communication skills and are experienced in using the Microsoft Office Suite. An intermediate to advanced level of Microsoft Excel is essential.
