Director, Hereford Photography Festival
A dynamic, visually aware and ambitious director is needed to lead the Hereford Photography Festival through a period of development and change.
£32,000 pa (0.8FTE pro rata)
HPF has developed over the past 19 years as an annual celebration of photography, which has run for a month in various public venues in Hereford. The organisation is currently moving towards a more year-round pattern of activity in which it would act as a visual arts development agency with a focus on the photographic image in all its forms. The exhibition programme will remain as a focus and outcome for many of the festival activities and we are planning for an ambitious biennial festival complemented by annual public showings for project outcomes.
Our key aims include artistic excellence supported by audience development through project development and initiation, partnership working, and local and regional engagement. The director will provide strong leadership and artistic vision, sound financial management and confident fundraising abilities to the festival.
Hereford Photography Festival is a Regularly Funded Organisation of Arts Council England.
Closing date: 4.00pm Friday 13th February 2009. Interviews will take place on Thursday 19th February 2009 in Hereford.
