Chair (voluntary position)
Cartwheel Arts is one of the leading participatory arts companies in the North West. A registered charity established in 1984, the company promotes social inclusion and cohesion, diversity and regeneration through community participation in vibrant, high-quality arts projects.
Our chair, Mike Faulkner, is stepping down after six years at the helm and we are seeking a talented and motivated replacement. You will be joining a team which currently consists of 8 Trustees, all experts in their respective fields, 3 very busy members of staff (about to become 4 with the imminent appointment of a new administrator) and a large roster of freelance artists and volunteers delivering projects in a wide range of community settings.
The ideal candidate will have:
· experience of management, probably in a small enterprise environment or in the statutory or third sector;
· enthusiasm for the role the arts can play in a social context, for example regeneration and community cohesion
· awareness of the changing landscape of public funding and the commissioning of services
