Partnership and Network Coordinator, Strategic Initiatives
Under the direction of the Director, Strategic Initiatives, conceives, develops and implements plans and strategies for partnership and networks between the Council and other organizations and individuals to achieve Council objectives; manages and coordinates the Council’s Partnership and Networks functions; manages special projects; liaises with Council staff and a broad range of external contacts in order to develop effective networks and partnerships; identifies key network and partnership opportunities.
The position requires:
Comprehensive knowledge of the Canada Council, its history, mandate, policies, programs, procedures and regulations, and an excellent knowledge of the both the national and international arts community and the government policies regarding cultural institutions.
Skills in relationship-building, networking, and collaboration across disciplines, sectors, and jurisdictions, including the ability to facilitate discussions and build consensus. The incumbent must be able to work in a complex and demanding environment with multiple stakeholders.
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to conceptualize, develop, implement and manage projects of a diverse nature, while meeting objectives, timeframes and budgets.
Excellent communication skills, the ability to write and speak in clear, accessible, and compelling language with a high degree of professionalism and diplomacy.
A strong ability to provide strategic advice based on strong analytical research, and to organize and lead work on behalf of various stakeholders.
A high level of organizational and business administration skills, with particular strengths in strategic planning, and financial management.
Such knowledge and skills are normally acquired through the completion of a university degree in arts management, communications, administration or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience in a related field.
