WA manager, Artsupport Australia

Artsupport Australia is seeking a dynamic, self-managing, networked and experienced senior person with a strong track record in fundraising to service West Australian arts organisations and artists, from a Perth base.
The position has been created to assist arts organisations and artists to access and grow philanthropic funding opportunities.
You will work with West Australian artists and arts organisations to help grow their private sector income from individual giving or donor programs and/or philanthropic trusts and foundations.
Working from the offices of the WA Department of Culture and the Arts (DCA) in Perth, the WA manager will work primarily ‘one-on-one’ with arts organisations and artists throughout WA.
You will build relationships with philanthropists and potential philanthropists to assist them to research and source arts funding options (at no cost to the philanthropists). Philanthropists may not necessarily have an interest in the arts – their cause areas of interest could range from youth at risk, to children and disabilities, or Indigenous and mental health.
The work requires that the WA manager be self-motivated, proactive, highly organised and able to work autonomously.
Responsibilities include ‘one-on-one’ mentoring with arts organisations and artists, including assisting them to identify suitable philanthropic trusts and foundations to apply to; providing assistance with grant applications and building relationships with potential donors, donors, and philanthropic trusts and foundations; and ongoing relationship management, as well as ongoing management and evaluation of the initiative in WA.
You will report to the Sydney-based director of Artsupport Australia. The position is co-funded by the Australia Council for the Arts and DCA.
