Lecturer/Sen Lecturer in Sociology of Media and Culture
The Sociology Department is looking to build research and teaching strength in the area of Sociology of Media and Culture. We are looking for applicants who are qualified to offer a large Undergraduate unit in the Sociology of Media and to develop an Undergraduate program in the field of Sociology of Culture. # Essential Selection Criteria Level B: PhD in Social Sciences or equivalent; a strong and developing track-record in publication and research as evidenced by high-quality publications, competitive external research grants and higher degree research supervision; and demonstrated excellence in learning and teaching and evidence of a reflective, student-centred approach. # Essential Selection Criteria Level C: PhD in Sociology or equivalent; an impressive track-record in publication and research as evidenced by high-quality publications, competitive external research grants and higher degree research supervision; demonstrated excellence in learning and teaching and evidence of a reflective, student-centred approach; an interest and competence in senior administration roles. # Enquiries: Associate Professor Pauline Johnson, Head of Department of Sociology on (02) 9850-9491 or e-mail pauline.johnson@scmp.mq.edu.au # Information about the Department is available at www.soc.mq.edu.au # This position is available on a full-time (continuing) basis and may be subject to probationary conditions. Level C (Senior Lecturer) from $96,986 pa, including base salary $81,954 to $94,407 pa including annual leave loading and up to 17% employer's superannuation.
