The ACT Chief Minister’s Department is seeking applications for employment on long term contract as the Director artsACT from early July 2007. The Director leads the artsACT team in implementing Government policies and priorities for the arts in the ACT.

The Director plays a key role in providing high-level advice and support to the Minister for the Arts and the Chief Executive, Chief Minister’s Department on strategic policy development and program delivery in the arts in the ACT. The Director is responsible for managing the delivery of the Government’s priorities for the arts, and maintaining effective relations with the arts sector, the broader community and other relevant agencies.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate leadership in developing and implementing strategic arts policies and programs, and have experience in delivering a diverse range of arts programs in a government context, including grant funding, capital works, special projects and public art.

Remuneration: The position will attract a package of between $144,937 and $152,736 per annum, which includes a cash component of $111,410. Employer provided benefits include superannuation, a privately plated car and parking.
