Policy Officer, Cultural Development & Community Strengthening
An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated individual to work across two Victorian government departments - Arts Victoria, Department of Premier and Cabinet and Department for Victorian Communities - in the role of Policy Officer – Cultural Development & Community Strengthening. Arts Victoria is a division of the Department of Premier and Cabinet and is responsible for the management of a range of programs designed to support the development and sustainability of the art and cultural sectors in Victoria. The Department for Victorian Communities works to deliver government services in a way that supports and strengthens communities across Victoria through and integrated approach to planning, funding and delivering services at the local level. In the role of Policy Officer – Cultural Development & Community Strengthening your key responsibility will be to manage the further development of the Community Museum’s Revitalisation strategy developed in conjunction with Arts Victoria and the Department of Victorian Communities. In addition you will facilitate State Government agencies support to the Community Museum’s pilot in the goldfields region. You will manage the development of increased strategic connections between State and local Government in relation to cultural development policy and programs. To undertake the role of Policy Officer – Cultural Development & Community Strengthening you will possess knowledge and experience in the cultural sector, particularly relevant to local government. You will have demonstrated knowledge and experience in community development processes and the operations of local Government, and experience in working with them.
