Chief Operating Officer
As Tate embarks on the most ambitious and far reaching programme of development in its history, the Board of Trustees wishes to appoint an enterprising Chief Operating Officer to assume overall responsibility for the delivery of Tate’s revenue operations and to lead on the development of Tate’s annual business plan. This high profile role requires the ability to work at a senior level in the arts and media or in a customer facing environment. To succeed, the appointee will possess a flair for management and be able to work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels while building relationships with external funders and stakeholders. Representing Tate at this senior level calls for a talent for problem solving and the ability to think strategically and work through others to turn strategy into action. This is a role for an inspirational leader capable of motivating a broad community across the organisation to realise Tate’s 2015 vision. Part of the Senior Management Team reporting to the Director, Sir Nicholas Serota and working closely with the Deputy Director, Alex Beard, the remit is to oversee the management of the Operations, Finance, Human Resources, Information Systems, Collection and Programme Services functions ; marshalling all these resources to enable delivery of Tate services to its public, both on a day to day basis and to resource the major development plan.
