Visiting Lecturers

Are you interested in beginning or developing an academic career in Cultural Management? The Department of Cultural Policy and Management, City University, London is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join their academic team for the year 2006/7 as part time Visiting Lecturers. The Department runs four Master programmes and a Postgraduate Diploma which focus on the cultural sector and creative industries (from West End musicals to Museums) with an emphasis on policy making and management (see www.city.ac.uk/cpm/prospective_students/courses.html) The Department is currently undergoing significant change and we believe this transitional period is an exciting time for experienced academics/professionals to join us as well as an excellent opportunity for early career academics/ professionals to develop University experience. We are particularly looking for individuals to run, or collaborate in running, existing MA modules on:

  • Management across the creative and cultural sector (October start date)
  • Marketing across the creative and cultural sector (both October and January start date)
  • Finance, Business and Fundraising across the cultural sector (both January and April start date)
  • Management of the visual arts in private and public art venues (January start date)
  • The Art Market (April start date) Duties would include preparation and teaching, marking and tutorial supervision. We are also seeking individuals who have had experience in tutoring PhD students to completion. Salary to be discussed according to experience.
