Vice President of Museum Operations The Detroit Institute of Arts USA, MI, Detroit Type: Full Time Description The Detroit Institute of Arts (www.dia.org) has an outstanding, newly restructured career opportunity available for a Vice President of Museum Operations to bring the facility to an unprecedented level of excellence. The VP will report directly to the DIA Chief Operating Officer. All departments which interface with museum visitors will be overseen by The VP-Museum Operations. These areas include: visitor services, event and maintenance rentals, building operations and maintenance, food services, security and grounds. In addition, this individual will be involved with exhibition construction and art movement. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, - training and mentoring Department Heads, - administering contract services, - developing schedules and work flows, - taking part in strategic planning, - serving as a member of various committees, - and working with City of Detroit agencies as needed. nitial priorities will include preparing for the grand re-opening of the museum, organizing the completion of the building construction, and commissioning new mechanical systems. Most importantly, the VP must have the ability to lead and motivate the entire DIA staff to wholeheartedly embrace a genuine customer satisfaction driven philosophy.
