UKFC US Executive Director (ref: CEO/USD01) Please not this post is based in Los Angeles, California, USA Reports to: Chief Executive Officer, UK Film Council (based London, UK) Outline of Role/Purpose of Job: You will be primarily responsible for representing the interests of the UK film industry and the UK Film Council (UKFC) on all matters in the United States. Key Tasks/Responsibilities: Strategic Development: Keeping abreast of UK Film Council¡¦s key issues and determining where and when to discuss them with US industry; reporting intelligence on the ground to CEO or relevant Department Head at UKFC, as necessary; identifying new opportunities for UKFC to assist in delivering its objectives; maintaining existing and create new relationships with purpose; introducing CEO of UKFC to relevant US contacts as per agreed objectives. Office: Overseeing administration of office so it runs smoothly; Human Resources; finance reconciliation and reporting to Chief Operating Officer; managing new IT. Inward Investment: Meeting with majors and mini majors about potential projects for UK; overseeing inward investment work by Information Officer, including information exchanges with the UK-based International Department. Training: Creating opportunities for UK industry with the top four film schools in US; reporting best practice findings to UK Film Skills Group; feeding comments, US perceptions to UK. Support for Funds: Developing working strategy with the UKFC Funds as to how UKFCUS can assist; oversee work by Information Executive; meeting with Managers, Agents, Equity Partners, etc; reading coverage and scripts, where relevant; pitching projects such as Development Fund¡¦s ¡§25 Words Or Less¡¨ to key contacts. Diversity: Creating opportunities for UK industry; reporting best practice findings to Head of Diversity; feeding comments, US perceptions to UK. Export Promotion: Acting as ambassador for UKFC in the US; delivering export promotion activity plan in the US (see plan). Supporting UK Government: Supporting Her Majesty¡¦s Consulate General in LA and the UK Government¡¦s Department for Culture, Media and Sport, where relevant on UK film matters in US.
