To direct and manage the Library and Archive Department; to meet its aims, objectives and strategic plans; to develop departmental policy; contribute to the development of Tate policy and oversee implementation; to ensure the maintenance of high professional standards in archive administration and the provision of library services; to represent the department within Tate and the Gallery externally, particularly within the information community.
