Programme Director - Arts and Heritage

Esmée Fairbairn Foundation is one of the leading grantmaking foundations in the UK, allocating £27 million a year in grants across four programmes - Arts & Heritage, Education, Environment and Social Change: Enterprise and Independence Esmée Fairbairn Foundation is seeking to appoint a Programme Director to head up its Arts & Heritage programme. The Programme Director is responsible for managing the Foundation's grants programme in Arts & Heritage and working with Trustees to develop the Foundation's Arts & Heritage strategy, with the primary objective of making a real difference in the sector. The Programme Director will have significant knowledge of the arts and heritage sector, particularly the arts, likely to have been gained by at least five years employment in that field. S/he will also have at least three to five years experience of working either in a funding capacity or in a senior role in a charity or other key organisation in the arts and heritage sector. Applicants will need to have proven intellectual, analytical, strategic policy development and communication skills. This may be evidenced by a degree, professional qualification, or by working at a level of complexity comparable to this post. The ability to organise and manage a heavy workload to deadlines is also required.
