Chief Executive
Audiences Northern Ireland, supported by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, is a membership-based audience development agency which seeks to increase and diversify audiences in Northern Ireland. The organisation seek a Chief Executive to lead the organisation into its full implementation stage. Key tasks include setting objectives, goals and targets for Audiences NI; developing and agreeing, with the Board and others, a strategy to deliver these objectives; raising and managing income; providing inspirational leadership and direction to staff and agency members; continuously seeking to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the organisation and collaborating with others to ensure resources are used effectively to achieve the long term goals of the Agency. Essential requirements include a third level educational qualification, preferably in a business related discipline; at least three years full time management experience within the past five years at a senior level to include planning, implementing, reviewing and improving as well as change management; demonstrable experience of leading and managing staff to achieve objectives, budget planning and financial management; demonstrable effective communication skills in dealing with different needs and viewpoints and winning the support of others in a challenging environment. It is also essential that applicants can demonstrate that they are acquainted with and understand audience development strategies and methodologies. The post is fixed term, until the end of April 2007, and may be renewed upon receipt of continuing funding and satisfactory performance. A secondment may be possible, although such applicants must confirm that their employers would be prepared to release them for the required period.
