Director of Research and Analysis

This position is located in the Office of Research and Analysis, where the incumbent reports to the Chairman of the agency.
The incumbent is a recognised expert in the area of developing and implementing a research, evaluation and analysis program to address issues of interest to the agency, the arts and the arts community.
Duties to be performed by the incumbent are as follows:
Identifying program-related issues and matters of interest to the agency and developing and implementing a short, intermediate and long-range research, evaluation and analysis plan;
Establishing processes for developing the research, evaluation and analysis plan, collecting information and assessing implications, and widely sharing the results or findings;
Ensuring broad-based consultation in the development of the plans and the use of structured and field accepted approaches when conducting research, evaluation, and analyses;
Ensuring the presentation of research, evaluation and analyses results to the public including representing the agency at meetings and conferences;
Seeking public and private sector partners to implement components of the research, evaluation and analysis plan, as appropriate;
Ensuring that the agency’s research, evaluation and analysis plan is updated regularly and is responsive to the requirements of the Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) and other related government-wide initiatives. As requested, prepares agency strategic and related plans;
Prepares reports, position papers, analyses and other materials for the Chairman and other agency officials as requested;
Oversees the work of the Office of Research and Analysis, including ongoing efforts to track the geographic impact of agency awards.
Team participation is vital to effectively/efficiently accomplish unit assignments.
Qualifications
The successful candidate is required to have broad expertise and status in the field of research, evaluation or analyses related to the arts. The candidate should have experience in leadership, or management; arts administration; and grants administration. Additional experience would include activities such as identifying and developing partnerships with the public and private sectors, preparing findings and presenting results, and producing articles and publications to convey findings and results.
