Visiting Arts is seeking to appoint an enterprising individual who can inspire, lead and manage the organisation over the next five years. Visiting Arts works to increase international awareness and understanding in the UK through the arts. Currently, the organisation is refocusing its priorities in the light of political and cultural changes internationally and in the UK. The new Director will have an opportunity to work with the Board to influence the future direction of the organisation. The VA brief covers England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and countries overseas prioritised by the Board. It is a small and busy organisation with a core team of 14 staff operating at a senior level with governments, arts organisations and artists. The incumbent will have a minimum of 5 years experience at a senior level in the arts or other relevant sector with proven financial ability and a wide experience of international work. He or she will be an exceptional communicator, good at building networks and lasting relationships. They will work with people from an extensive range of cultural backgrounds. Experience of fundraising and marketing is also an advantage.
