The Australia Council for the Arts is seeking to appoint a Director of its ATSIA Division (Indigenous Arts) for a three year term.
The key objectives of this role are to:
Deliver a whole-of-organisation strategy for ATSIA through consultation with key internal and external stakeholders;
Guide the activities of the organisation to achieve the ATSIA strategy within the framework of the Australia Council Act, corporate goals and guidelines (vision, mission, values);
Provide leadership and expert Indigenous Arts and Culture advice and support to the Australia Council management, government and key stakeholders;
Develop, promote and leverage a range of relationships and partnerships between Indigenous artists and communities and key government, corporate and community agencies to ensure a thriving and enduring Indigenous arts and cultural life;
Proactively drive support and encourage the arts and culture of Indigenous Arts and Culture toward the wider audience;
Manage the ATSIA Board of Council to deliver grant programs that support strategy outcomes to artists and organisation;
Serve as an effective member of Senior Executive team, working collaboratively with them and the CEO on key organisational issues and in meeting objectives of the Strategic Plan; and
Lead, manage and mentor the ATSIA team to achieve Divisional objectives.
The role is based in Surry Hills, Sydney.
