As Scotland's largest conservation charity, it is guardian of many of the Nation's finest landscapes, buildings, gardens and collections. The Trust has recently transformed its governance, improved its financial performance and is now ready to move forward with confidence and determination. It seeks a Chairman to continue the work of Professor Roger J Wheater who will step down on completion of tenure in autumn 2005. The role: - Lead and chair the Trust's newly invigorated governance structure of Council and Board in both formulating strategy and the running of the Trust, - support the Chief Executive and Senior Management, - further enhance the Trust's standing and reputation in Scotland and internationally, - champion the Trust's ethos and objectives. The candidate: - Demonstrable reputation in strategy development and implementation with extensive main Board level experience, - committed to the Nation's heritage and its conservation, - persuasive ambassador for the Trust.
