Arts Council Ireland is inviting tender for a research consultant to explore a Socio-Economic Study of Theatre Practitioners in Ireland.
The consultant will identify and describe the socio-economic conditions and regulatory context of theatre practitioners in Ireland and inform effective interventions for change to accord the professional theatre practitioner the conditions and status they deserve as workers and contributors to society.
Researchers and research teams with proven socio-economic research expertise are invited to tender for this study.
The research objectives are as follows:
Assemble baseline data on the socio-economic conditions of theatre practitioners in Ireland.
Suggest framework for ongoing statistical analysis.
Identify and assess approaches taken by stakeholders in Ireland at policy and programme level to provide for the theatre practitioner.
Describe perceived and actual impact of existing supports.
Report findings to enable the Arts Council implement responsive policy making and grant making programmes, and inform advocacy in support of the theatre practitioner in Ireland.
Proposals should be submitted no later than 12 noon Friday, 26 November 2004.
