Proposal Writer, Foundation and Corporate Development
The National Trust for Historic Preservation - the leader of America’s dynamic preservation movement - is seeking a team member to produce proposals, reports and correspondence in support of Foundation & Corporate fundraising. Other job functions will include: - Research and qualify foundation and corporate prospects - Work closely with vice presidents, project directors and Resources Development staff to develop foundation and corporate proposals - Synthesise complex ideas for coherent, compelling grant proposals - Oversee the acknowledgement letter and grant agreement process for grants to the National Trust of $5,000+ Qualifications: - Minimum of 3 years of solid development writing experience, preferably in non-profit organisations - Experience in researching donors and developing and writing winning grant proposals, including experience writing to and about culturally diverse funders and projects - Superb written and oral communication skills a must, including interviewing, editing and proofreading, with concise, descriptive and persuasive writing style - Demonstrated ability to supervise staff - Ability to work as part of a team with all levels of staff - Experience in or familiarity with historic preservation, architectural history, community revitalisation or museum settings a plus - B.A. required To apply for this position, send cover letter, resume, and salary requirements to the address below.
