Participation & Inclusion Officer

Arts Council Wales is seeking a Partcipation and Inclusion officer to assist in the development and implementation of ACW’s strategies and action plans. As part of the Strategic Development Team, in support of the Senior Strategic Development Officer, you will: - assist in the development and implementation of ACW’s strategies and action plans for participation and inclusion - provide professional and expert advice, guidance and explanation of matters concerning ACW in relation to the participation and inclusion agenda - manage a portfolio of projects in support of ACW strategies for participation and inclusion MAIN DUTIES 1. Research and develop proposals, in support of ACW’s priorities in respect of participation and inclusion. 2. Monitor and provide reports regarding the implementation and effectiveness of ACW’s priorities in respect of specific participation and inclusion portfolios. 3. Participate in cross-Wales teams on areas of specialist expertise. 4. Draft and present documents setting out policies to the public and to ACW staff. 5. Advise the Senior Strategic Development Officer, Senior Management Team and Council on emerging issues relating to specific participation and inclusion portfolios and issues affecting the effective delivery of the organisation’s policies and strategies relating to those portfolios. 6. Provide advice to other ACW officers on specific participation and inclusion issues arising from particular grant applications. 7. Ensure that ACW staff and members are aware of and comply with all organisational and statutory matters relating to specific participation and inclusion issues. 8. Provide advice to artists and arts organisations in Wales on specific participation and inclusion issues, in conjunction with ACW regional offices and staff. 9. Work with the Senior Strategic Development Officer to develop and maintain partnerships and close working relationships with appropriate local, national and international bodies and agencies. 10. Plan and project manage (if appropriate) and monitor the delivery of any contracted or grant-aided services to ACW in support of specific participation and inclusion issues. 11. Participate in the development of ACW’s 5-year strategy, action plans and annual Corporate Plan processes. 12. Undertake any other duties which may be reasonably delegated by the Senior Strategic Development Officer and/or the Chief Executive. The position is a 3 year contract.
