Principal
Applications are invited for the post of Principal and Chief Executive. The successful candidate will succeed the current Principal, Professor Kevin Thompson on his appointment as Director of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. Dartington College of Arts is a university sector college specialising in contemporary performance arts: music, theatre, choreography, writing, art and performance, arts and cultural management, and their relation to changing social and cultural contexts. The College combines high quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching with innovative practice, a dynamic research and development culture, and interaction with arts practitioners, business and the community. In March 2003 Dartington plus, a partnership between the College, The Dartington Hall Trust and King Edward VI College, was designated by Arts Council England as a new national centre of excellence in music and the creative arts. We are looking for a remarkable individual to lead this unique institution, adding to its national and international reputation. Together with empathy and commitment to College mission and values, the successful candidate will have an international perspective, professional standing in the performance arts and / or distinction as an academic, a collegial and consensual leadership style, and proven record of management.
