Creative Director
Education can do more. It can inspire as well as instruct. Enthuse as well as test. Boost children's imagination and creativity as well as their examination results. That's why Creative Partnerships has been set up. A powerful tool for change backed by Government investment, we have a clear objective: to make creativity central to the learning process. We're not on the periphery of education. We're right at the heart of it. And we're now looking for people to champion our approach both passionately and practically. As one of our Creative Directors, you'll build long-term partnerships between local schools and organisations - from architects, theatre companies, museums and cinemas to dance, film and recording studios, orchestras and web designers. And you'll encourage them to devise inspirational programmes of creative and cultural activity that really fit each school's needs. Already, 16 Creative Partnerships areas are up and running. Now we're planning a further 20 across England. To take responsibility for one of these, you'll need to be absolutely committed to social and political change and a tireless ambassador for young people's rights. What's more, your background in the cultural or community sectors, with an entrepreneurial emphasis, will have honed your ability to work productively with a wide range of people; to motivate and stimulate; and to forge strong relationships. What's in it for you? Challenge, certainly. It's never easy to change mindsets. But equally you'll enjoy an enormous amount of fulfilment and job satisfaction as you enrich minds, lives and our whole concept of education.
