Program Assistant

Arts International, a New York-based nonprofit organisation dedicated to the support and development of global interchange in the arts, seeks a Program Assistant in its grants division. The Program Assistant will work closely with program staff on the daily operation of Arts International’s grant programs and will manage grant-related information systems. Position will provide assistance with the grant application and review process, including receiving and tracking applications, follow-up correspondence, preparation and notetaking for meetings of advisory panels to review applications, and applicant notification; and will be responsible for grant administration across programs, including creating grant files and data, tracking status of grants, and receiving final reports. The Program Assistant will develop and maintain program records and information systems (applicant records, grant records, mailing lists, program listings, archives), both in hard copy and in an organizational database, and will compile program information and statistics for reporting, program promotion and outreach. Position responds to all program inquiries and requests for application materials. In order to be considered, candidates must possess the following: BA/BS or equivalent experience clerical/office experience, preferably in arts administration excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills commitment to accuracy and attention to detail proficiency in Microsoft office, familiarity with database and basic information management systems Interest in the performing/visual arts and familiarity with foreign languages is preferred, though not required. Experience with Dreamweaver and/or other web design programs is also preferred. This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits.
