Senior Research Officer

An opportunity exists to join the Australia Council for the Arts as a Senior Research Officer for a period of 12 months. This is a role for a researcher who has experience in industry and trend analysis gained through the government or tertiary research areas. Your responsibilities will include providing high-level data and issues analysis on Australia's cultural sector, including delivering a state of the arts report on the Australian cultural sector. As a strong communicator you have excellent writing and speaking skills and are able to communicate complex ideas clearly. Other responsibilities will include, providing advice and briefings to government and the Australia Council on trends in the cultural sector. You will assist with industry development partnership projects in art and technology in collaboration with universities, research and development facilities and other government departments. It is essential that you have a good understanding of the role of government and current Commonwealth Government cultural and innovation policies, including expertise in developing advice and options for government decision-making. Ideally you will have strong project management skills. You will have advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Internet and other related research tools.
