ART CENTER DIRECTOR

The Sioux City Art Center seeks a senior arts manager with an entrepreneurial spirit and strong leadership skills as its next director. Accredited by AAM and occupying an outstanding new facility designed by Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill, the center brings the excitement of the visual arts to the region through exhibitions, a permanent collection, art education, and support of artists. With a full-time staff of nine, a part-time staff of eight, and an annual budget of $1 million, the center operates under the municipal government in affiliation with an energetic art center association. The new director will oversee exhibition planning and education, publications and public outreach, facilities management, budgets, and fund-raising. Qualified candidates must have demonstrated skills in leadership and management, personnel management and team building, strategic and fiscal planning, fund-raising, and communications, and at least five years'' arts management experience at the senior level. An M.A. or M.F.A. degree and experience with reaccredidation preferred. Competitive salary and excellent benefits.
