More than two thousand people have responded to an online survey on cultural policies

The questionnaire that the Consejo Nacional de la Cultura y las Artes (CNCA) has released to consult civil society as part of the process to create its cultural policies until the year 2016, will be available until February 28th.

So far 2000 people have responded to the 26 question survey that is available at http://www.consejodelacultura.cl/portal/index.php.

Luciano Cruz-Coke, Minister of Culture, stated: “through this important contribution we will be able to know the citizens’ key concerns, understand the differences and features of each region as well as to detect their interests and what Chileans most value about culture”.

Arts Promotion, Cultural Heritage, Citizens’ Participation are the three main themes covered by the online survey.

The cultural policy formulation and updating process began in June 2010. Its main objective was to collect contributions from all relevant agents of the cultural milieu and of the general citizenry.

Up to this moment, four consultations have been made at the Regional conventions, that took place in 2010 in Copiapó, Concepción, Punta Arenas and Santiago; the National Convention that took place last August in Puerto Varas; the Cultural Agents Workshop carried out in November and the Public Rendering of Accounts delivered by the Minister of Culture, Luciano Cruz-Coke, the 12th of January.
