Seminar: 'The Culture Sector Today'

Next Friday (4 September) the registrations to take part at the Seminar organized by the Ministry of Culture close. On September 10 and 11, 2009, Cartagena de Indias will be the venue for the most important cultural seminar of the year “The Culture Sector Today”.

More than 24 national and international experts will gather, to answer these questions, among others: Which is the impact of investment in culture? Why is it ethical and necessary for a society to support culture? And which are successful models for creative and cultural businesses?

The Seminar “The Culture Sector Today: Challenges, Opportunities and Answers, Malraux International Seminar’ organized by the Ministry of Culture, the French Embassy and Bolivar’s Technological University, is supported by the Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo (AECID), la Organización de Estados Iberoamericanos (OEI) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

Four Ministers of Culture will be present at the Seminar: María Elena Carballo (Costa Rica), José Rafael Lantigua (Dominican Republic), Jerónimo Lancerío Chingo (Guatemala), and Jorge Coscia, Argentina’s Culture Secretariat. They will help draw the road map for Colombia and Latin America towards the definition of new strategies for this sector.
