Major political reforms in Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marat Tazhin, has announced a package of amendments to the laws on elections, political parties and media. The Minister of Culture and Information, Mr. Kul-Muhammed said that "the draft laws are concrete steps in the further modernization of Kazakhstan's political system. They are founded on the basic principles of the OSCE and are key provisions in President Nazarbayev's 'Path to Europe' programme".
