NEA Launches New Grants Initiative: Creativity and Aging
May 23, 2008 is the deadline for grant applications to a new Creativity and Aging in America initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts.
This Creativity and Aging funding opportunity will focus on the disciplines of literature and music. The program, managed by the NEA's Office for AccessAbility, is limited to fiscal year 2009. Projects must be conducted by professional artists and engage older adults (65 or older) as students, artists and/or teachers. Projects must be planned in cooperation with the target population including local organizations that address aging-related issues. Partnerships are encouraged, as is professional documentation. Grants are for $15,000 or $25,000 (with 1-to-1 match).
