Intangible cultural heritage convention comes into force
The UNESCO convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage 2003 will come into force next week. The Convention will encourage and emphasise the role of communities and groups as bearers of intangible cultural heritage. On the 31st March 2006, forty-six states ratified the Convention. It will enter into force on the 20th April 2006. The Convention is hoped to contribute greatly to the international promotion of cultural diversity and creativity. For more information, CLICK HERE.
