Festivals and Events: Beyond Economic Impacts

Festivals and Events are seen to be key tools for urban regeneration and reviving and refocusing urban and rural communities. Much of the research to date in this area has concentrated on the economic power of events and the monetary value they can bring into a locale, city or region. The focus of LSA 2005 Festivals and Events: Beyond Economic Impacts will be on the wider impacts of events and how they can have a social or cultural impact on a destination. Keynote and Parallel session presentations by academics, researchers and practitioners will address the following main conference themes
