Archives, Memory and Knowledge - International Congress in Vienna
UNESCO announces the 15th International Congress on Archives - organised in collaboration with the Austrian State Archives and the International Council on Archives (ICA) in Vienna, Austria. The Congress, from 23 to 29 August 2004 will be under the title Archives, Memory and Knowledge and will address professional reflection, practical education and decisions on the future of archives. ICA is the professional organisation for the world archival community, dedicated to promoting the preservation, development, and use of the world's archival heritage. Maintaining official relations with UNESCO, ICA brings together national archive administrations, professional associations of archivists, regional and local archives and archives of other organisations as well as individual archivists.
