Arts Council introduces first Intercultural Arts Strategy

The Arts Council of Northern Ireland has, with the support of local MLA Anna Lo, launched the first ever Intercultural Arts Strategy for Northern Ireland in the Crescent Arts Centre, Belfast. Northern Ireland's First Artist to be Commissioned through Unlimited Programme

London 2012 and The Arts Council of Northern Ireland today announced that Ballymoney-based visual artist, Maurice Orr has been awarded one of the first commissions for the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad Unlimited. Unlimited is the largest arts and disability programme to be delivered in Northern Ireland and the UK. Pamela Rogers, former Arts Council Director dies aged 85

It is with sadness that the Arts Council notes the death of one of its previous directors.  Pamela Rogers joined the Arts Council of Northern Ireland during the early years of The Troubles, in 1972. She died on Sunday 30th November 2008, aged 85. more >

Small grants programme replaces awards for all arts funding

From December 16th 2008, the Arts Council's 'Small Grants Programme' will replace the Big Lottery Fund's 'Awards for All' scheme as the prime source of small grants for groups seeking National Lottery funding for their arts activities. The 'Small Grants Programme' will offer grants of between £500 - £10,000 to voluntary and small professional groups for a wide range of community-based arts activities. more >
