Living Conditions of Artists in Europe
Your Question
I am working on a research about living conditions of the artists (more generally about the people working in the creative industries sector) in Europe. All what I was able to find is the indication about general numbers for the sector (like how many self-employed workers are in the sector, people having second jobs, etc.). However, I did not find any useful recent references on the average living conditions (like earnings, unemployment rates, social security, etc.).
Would you be able to help me with the research?
Unfortunately, I would need the info quite urgently...://
Thank you very much for your kind answer!
Our Answer
We have found some resources that may be of use in your research. For your interest, I am also including a link to an Australian study, which has been carried out on a regular basis since the 1990s, by Professor David Throsby. It may be an interesting model for a European study http://www.australiacouncil.gov.au/research/artists/reports_and_publications/artistcareers
