Bursary recipients announced for the 5th World Summit on Arts and Culture
The Australia Council for the Arts and the International Federation of Arts Councils and Culture Agencies (IFACCA) are delighted to announce 29 bursary recipients for the 5th World Summit on Arts and Culture.
The bursary programme enables delegates from developing countries to attend the World Summit through support for registration, travel and/or accommodation.
The bursary programme was widely promoted and nearly 200 applications were received from around the world. In selecting who would receive a bursary for the World Summit, the aim was to support participation from the widest number of countries within the budget available, using the following criteria:
- Breadth of knowledge about the Summit theme and the potential to contribute to, and benefit from, the discussions, workshops and networking opportunities.
- Degree of interest in the objectives of IFACCA as demonstrated by participation in the Federation or sharing of information with the network
- Financial need (based on the GDP of the country).
We acknowledge, with gratitude, the support provided for the World Summit’s international bursary programme (http://www.artsummit.org/hosts), particularly the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade through its Council of Australian-Arab Relations and its Council of Australia Latin America Relations.
