Online registration now open for the 5th World Summit on Arts and Culture
We are pleased to announce that online registration for the 5th World Summit on Arts and Culture is now available at www.artsummit.org.
Jointly hosted by the Australia Council for the Arts and IFACCA, in partnership with Arts Victoria, the 5th World Summit will explore the theme Creative Intersections.
The Programme Advisor for the Summit is Robyn Archer AO, who is working closely with IFACCA in the development of the Summit theme and selection of topics and speakers. Preliminary details of the programme and speakers will be announced in April and the website will be constantly updated between now and October with further information.
The Summit website includes information on accommodation, tours and visiting Melbourne.
The cultural programme for the 5th World Summit will be arranged by Melbourne Festival, with the support of Arts Victoria. Brett Sheehy, Artistic Director, will create a programme of arts events over the period 3-6 October, culminating in the opening night of the Festival on the evening of 6 October. Included in the delegate registration fee is a ticket to one of Melbourne Festival’s preview events:
• Back to Back Theatre / Ganesh versus the Third Reich
• Chunky Move and Victorian Opera / Assembly
Delegates will also be eligible for a discounted ticket to the Melbourne Festival Opening Night Party.
The online registration system enables delegates to book hotel accommodation for the period of the Summit. Details of hotels and accommodation rates are available here: http://www.artsummit.org/visiting/accommodation/
There is also an Accompanying Persons registration which provides access to the Opening reception and Official Dinner. Accompanying persons may also wish to book one or more of the five tours that have been organised during the week: Heritage Market Tour, Melbourne; Yarra Valley Food and Wine Experience, Victoria; Majestic Melbourne; Melbourne Lanes & Arcades Tour; Heide Museum of Modern Art Experience, Melbourne. Further details of these tours are available from the website http://www.artsummit.org/visiting/accompanying/
We would also remind delegates from developing countries that applications for bursary assistance are available from the ‘fees’ page of the Summit website, and applications close on 15 April.
We look forward to welcoming you to Melbourne, Australia on 3-6 October 2011.
