IFACCA welcomes Catalan and Namibian Arts Councils as affiliate members
We are delighted to announce that the Consell Nacional de la Cultura I de les Arts, Catalonia, Spain, and the National Arts Council of Namibia, have joined IFACCA as affiliate members.
The Consell Nacional de la Cultura i de les Arts is the first arts council in the south of Europe based on the Anglo-Saxon model. Its mission is to foster and to organize the policies of support, promotion and expansion of culture and of artistic creation. Established this year, it will promote universal access to culture and integrate the different fields of culture, science, technology and the arts from a transversal, interdisciplinary and diverse perspective. It will aim to encourage excellence in creation, professional improvement, and the promotion and diffusion of cultural products.
The mission of the National Arts Council of Namibia is to advance Namibia through the creative arts, with an emphasis on artistically underserved communities. The agency encourages widespread public participation in the arts; helps build strong arts organisations at the local level; assists with the professional development of arts leaders; promotes awareness of the value of the arts; and directly supports arts programs for communities.
Further information, including news stories, publications and events relating to culture policy is available on the IFACCA website for Spain, and Namibia.
