New affiliate members

IFACCA is pleased to welcome two new affiliate members: Nordic Culture Point and the Culture Fund of Zimbabwe Trust.

The mandate for Kulturkontakt Nord - Nordic Culture Point is to promote and develop Nordic cultural co-operation further. The work and activities of the institution must have a high Nordic profile and contribute to Nordic synergy. Nordic Culture Point, established on 1 January 2007, is organised as a Nordic institution in its own right, with a board operating under the auspices of the Nordic Council of Ministers. Nordic Culture Point was set up as the result of the structural reform of Nordic cultural co-operation in 2006.

The Culture Fund of Zimbabwe Trust was established and registered as a Trust in 2006 to contribute to the growth and development of the culture sector in Zimbabwe through provision of financial and technical support to cultural practitioners, institutions and activities. The establishment of the fund came as a result of the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) and stakeholders’ desire to address inconsistent funding to the culture sector in Zimbabwe.

The National Arts Council is Zimbabwe’s national member for IFACCA. Further information, including news stories, publications and events relating to culture policy in Zimbabwe are available here.
