New 'read' function on IFACCA's website

If you don't have time to read ACORNS, but don't want to miss the 'big story', then check the top of our home page www.ifacca.org for the 'READ' box.

The 'READ' box, highlights the latest and most interesting developments in arts and cultural policy, based on their relevance and importance to national government arts support agencies. Since launching the new website on 23 January, the box has contained, for example, the following items:

  • At Arm´s Length, a new book by Geraint Talfan Davies, former Chairman of the Arts Council of Wales, which gives a graphic account of a battle to maintain the arm’s length principle in arts funding in Wales.
  • A Sustainable Arts Sector: What Will It Take?, a publication on multi-dimensional policy approaches to achieving artistic, financial and organisational sustainability in the arts in which the authors argue for the establishment of a public-private endowment fund for the arts in Australia.
  • Development of a Drama Strategy: Summary Report, which sets out recommendations for a new drama strategy for the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.
  • Supporting Excellence in the Arts, a policy review in the United Kingdom.

Over coming editions of ACORNS we will be highlighting other new features of our website. We invite you to take a few minutes to try www.ifacca.org and tell us about any improvements you would like to see. Your comments are always welcome - simply email us at info@ifacca.org.
