REPORT ON ARTS AND CULTURE FESTIVALS
IFACCA is pleased to release D'Art report number 21, Assistance to arts and culture festivals Compiled by Péter Inkei, Director of The Budapest Observatory with assistance from the IFACCA secretariat, the report summarises responses from a number of national arts funding agencies to questions about how they support and evaluate festivals. The report also contains a selection of references and resources on arts and cultural festivals. more >
IFACCA BOARD TO MEET IN COLOMBIA
IFACCA's board will meet in Medellín and Bogotá, Colombia, on 15-17 November 2005. The meeting, to be hosted by the Colombian Ministry of Culture, the Mayor of Medellín and Octavio Arbeláez, President of Redlat, will provide an opportunity to discuss new projects and financial matters, the program for the next World Summit and meet with representatives of Latin American governments and the local arts community. The last meeting was held in England in April 2005. We welcome suggestions for agenda items. more >
NEW MEDIA ARTS: RESPONSE TO 'HELSINKI AGENDA'
In August 2004 the Arts Council of Finland, m-cult and IFACCA co-hosted a 'mini-summit' on media arts and media culture policy in Helsinki, Finland. The mini-summit resulted in the release of the 'Helsinki Agenda', which recommended further actions be taken by IFACCA. The IFACCA response seeks comments and feedback on a process by which IFACCA can further work on new media arts support and gauge interest among members in establishing an ongoing network. more >
