Mini-summit to discuss arts and education
IFACCA's next mini-summit, taking place in Melbourne, Australia, on 11-12 September, has attracted over 30 delegates from national arts funding agencies in 19 countries. A members-only event, the mini-summit is jointly hosted by the Australia Council, Arts Victoria and IFACCA with the support of the Victorian Arts Centre. Recognised as a lead-up event to the UNESCO Summit on Arts and Education in Lisbon, Portugal, in March 2006, the mini-summit will provide an opportunity for government agencies to share their experiences and challenges and hear presentations by Sir Ken Robinson and Professor Anne Bamford. Call for speakers for World Summit now open
Inspirational speakers, panel members from diverse backgrounds and practical case studies are now sought for the World Summit on Arts and Culture to be hosted by Arts Council England in partnership with IFACCA and a range of funding partners. The Summit is expected to attract about 500 cultural leaders, policy makers and regeneration managers from all over the world. IFACCA and Arts Council England are delighted to announce the launch of the website for the 2006 World Summit on Arts and Culture. The Summit, which follows similar events in Canada (2000) and Singapore (2003), will take place on 14-17 June 2006 in NewcastleGateshead, England. As well as describing the Summit theme 'Transforming places, Transforming lives', the site highlights the arts and culture of North East England and the tours that are proposed to complement the Summit program. more >
